Tihi Kut – Tea Party House was built in 1904 by Mare's great grandparents. At that time Art nouveau was popular philosophy and style in Architecture so the house has Art nouveau ornaments on it's facade. It is the house with long family history surrounded with green garden 10 minutes walk from the Old Town Dubrovnik.
After the ww2 two sisters Mare's great Aunties Mitzy and Rina lived in the house. They traveled all around the world and where skilled with languages so they gave private lessons. Many boys and girls visited the house by coming to learn German, Italian or English with them. Although they were never blessed with children the house was always lively with children voices and especially when Mare and her brothers and sister visited them.
Now days Mare's nieces and nephews are visiting their aunt during holidays so the tradition continues.
Why Tea Party House Dubrovnik, Croatia?
For many years, mare's grandmother and great aunts held tea parties in the house. They chatted about anything and everything for many warm afternoons. We continue the tradition, we have the name and we drink tea.
